We visited on Saturday and had SUCH a great time!! As a bit of an entry level to climbing, it’s an awesome activity for the family or for a group of children or teens! It can be quite challenging and requires some strength but you only have to push yourself as hard as you want to and the climbs vary in difficulty. (I’d say it’s ideal for 4-12 year olds) Jacob and I are a bit competitive as you can see 🙄 so we loved racing up the face to face wall, and trying to out do each other on the vertical drop slide and stairway to heaven!! He’s completely fearless so basically is like a rat up a drain pipe and is about as heavy as my right hand so finds holding his own body weight easy! I on the other hand…. Sweaty palms, every muscle shaking and weird facial expressions. And once again performing some amazing Bridget Jones moves (see the horrific butt camera angles here 🤦🏻‍♀️) - but I won’t be beaten without a fight 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Tilda is five and really loves climbing too, although this time was a little more nervous than before, but by the end she had given everything a go and had a great time. The hardest bit for everyone is having the courage to let go and bounce down the wall the first time. It’s a brilliant place to visit, the staff are just great, super friendly and helpful and always on hand. You need sensible clothes and footwear, and no hoodies or jewellery. Climb Quest is an ideal indoor option for wet days or to escape the summer heat, and the venue itself felt spacious with only us and one other family climbing. They do have capacity for more but procedures mean they have limited the numbers which allows for distance without really trying. The staff also encourage you to sanitise between climbs. We found that it wasn’t very busy on Saturday morning so I highly recommend booking as they still have space and will take walk-ins on the day - but I recommend ringing or booking to avoid disappointment. Plus they have Little Rockers sessions for under fours during the week which I can’t wait to try soon with Lily!

We went back today after the centre reopened after lockdown. Clear markings at the entrance for social distancing, hand sanitiser at the entrance, at the tills and around the centre. One way systems in place and reduced session capacity to ensure we were kept as safe as possible. They go up and down and clean the walls frequently and there is sanitiser which they advise to use after every wall. We are very happy to be able to enjoy climbing here again and were confident in their safety procedures.

#gifted!!!! Like Rats up a drainpipe, we absolutely LOVED our visit on Sunday! Its only been open a couple of months so everything is shiny and brand new, including the staff who were all brilliant! The equipment is Clip n Climb so if you’ve been before you’ll be very familiar with the awesome climbing wall challenges, the hugely scary (for me) stairway to heaven and the strength testing Vertical drop slide! Both of mine absolutely love climbing so were in their element and have no fear bombing it to the top and bouncing off the walls (literally) back to the the ground. I’m a bit more tentative and totally crap myself on the way back down. 🤣 ...and although quicker than last time I did it the stairway to heaven is still a total jelly leg shocker! Take a look at me hauling my fat bum up to the top pole and then hauling it off like a hippo! Our visit was great, just the right number of people climbing, no waiting around and the ability to self serve so you don’t need the staff to get clipped in. This meant we spent so much time actually climbing that the hour long session was plenty long enough for our little (and old jelly) legs. Unlike some of the bigger centres there is nowhere for the little ones to play which was a little tricky for Mr Wiki who had to entertain Lily for nearly 2 hours but they have a little cafe serving drinks, cakes, snacks and hot dinners and a large viewing mezzanine where they also host kids parties. It was a great afternoon activity and not a bad cost at £13 per child. As a family activity I’d say it can get a little pricey for the time length at £18 for 17yrs up, but it’s a brilliant work out, something totally different, a great way to have fun with the kids and an awesome rainy day activity. And unlike most places in MK the parking is free!! Bonus! They also have Little Rockers classes for 2-4 year olds, SEND sessions and daily after school clubs at £10 per session. (They’re located in the old Giraffe building at Kingston, MK) 👍🏻👍🏻

This clip and climb centre has been open for a month and we have visited 3 times. Twice just the children climbed, once adults joined in too. Each time the staff have been really friendly and helpful and there are plenty of them to help out younger ones to clip in and out. It is a bit busier at weekends but still reasonably size groups to not have to wait around too long if there's a particular wall you want to climb. The session is 1.5 hours (30 min safety and prep). We have found that in quieter times you can get quite a bit of extra climbing time as there is no need to wait for a whole group to have their harnesses put on after the safety video. The kids love it and there is a lot of variety of skill levels that kept 4, 5, and 7 years olds busy and the staff really encouraged them and climbed alongside them on the next wall when it was quieter too. Plenty of parking is available too! They offer toddler session, Home Education sessions, SEN sessions and more too.
