Prepare for an unforgettable day out back where the very first Go Ape adventure was launched in 2002! Among a patchwork of pines and Douglas Firs, discover a world of high ropes and bi-wheeled adventure at Go Ape Thetford Forest.
Made for the whole family, Treetop Adventure, is perfect for everyone from tiny tots (over 1m) to unflappable adult. Test their balance and bravery on the stepping-stones, trapezes and a thrilling zip back down to earth.
New for 2021, level up to Treetop Adventure Plus, an additional, even more challenging, loop designed to keep little monkeys (over 6 years and 1.2m) on their toes. Leap longer, traverse trickier crossings and zip even further on a SOLO zip wire.
Have bigger kids (min 1.4m tall and 10 years+) looking for even bigger thrills? Treetop Challenge is a firm step out of your comfort zone, with a range of treetop crossings to tackle. Thetford has been described as “challenging and extremely difficult’ so brace yourself for sky scraping platforms and butterfly inducing dual Tarzan Swings.
For more grown-up fun, wind along woodland trails on the Forest Segway experience (min 6 stone and max 18.4 stone).
Go Ape has 35 unique locations nationwide from Dartmoor to Aberdeen and 11 unique adventures just waiting to be experienced.
COVID-19 safety measures, including hand washing stations, face coverings and more, will be in place to keep you and your tiny monkeys safe during your Go Ape adventure. Learn more in the video below.

Oh my gosh it was Amaaaazing. If not REALLY scary at the start. Obviously the boy Spider child took to it immediately and was practically skipping around the course without holding on, but Tilda was soooo nervous to start with. And I was so proud of her for conquering it!! I have to admit I was a bit gung ho to start with but then was bricking it by the time I took my first step onto Grandpas Bridge! With a huuuge drop underneath you this is not for the faint hearted or for people afraid of heights. But... even if you do start out nervous you seem to quickly get over it. I saw that in countless people during our session. Even absolutely tiny children!! I was shocked! But they were amazing!! The staff are brilliant. Super friendly and encouraging and will do anything to keep you up on the course to make sure you are not disappointed. But of course they will also collect you and let you down to the ground if needed. There is really no way you can fall so long as all the safety elements are in place. As you can see from the video, the wires including the zip wire can take your full weight and a lot more. My biggest surprise (other than the fact that Tilda and I got around the whole course) was that you do it alone and at your own pace. You’re not with a staff member. They show you the ropes (literally) and off you go. And I think that’s testament to how simple and how safe they believe this activity is - it’s really a clip and go sort of thing. You MUST always make sure your carabiner (climbing clip to you and me) is attached and that’s why an adult must always take part with a child. A child mostly can’t reach the wire so sorry parents, you have to do it too!! But you’ll love it and feel so proud of yourself.... ...Even if you do do a Bridget Jones on the fireman’s pole style zip wire and land with an inelegant crash on the landing pad. And then can’t climb up because you’re so old. 🤣👵🏻🩲 We took part in the Treetop adventure at @goape_thetford and have lots more in the pipeline this summer trying out their other routes. Even some suitable for little Lily!!
