Wow! We loved Leeds City Museum! There were so many hands on exhibits-the kids loved being able to touch and interact with all the objects and displays. These were dotted all around the museum, which kept them entertained all the way around. We also loved the book baskets that were placed in some of the rooms, the kids were able to sit and read relevant stories that helped their understanding of he exhibitions. We visited when the 'Pilot Whale' event was happening- there were lots of arts and crafts to take part in, including a huge papier mache whale in the centre of the room to collectively decorate, which my two absolutely loved! My littlest took part in the 'Where's Wally?' trail (we do love a trail!) around the museum too- Wally was hiding in between various items so we had to take our time and make sure we looked at all the exhibitions, which is a great idea to stop younger children getting bored and losing interest. We ate at the cafe downstairs. There was a lovely little kids menu which was reasonably priced and the coffee and cake was great too! The only problem we encountered in the day was finding parking, but the museum is in the centre of the city so we were expecting that! A great family day out!

We decided to go to Leeds city museum one rainy Saturday and what a fab place it is! It's in the centre of Leeds so once you have managed to find a car park (we struggled a little) it's really easy to get to. The ground floor of the museum is full of animals which my 4 year old loved and the top floor had an interactive exhibition called 'for all seasons' where children can dress up and get involved rather than just having to look at things. While we were there they were also doing Valentine's Day crafts which we were not expecting. As well as our 4 year old we also have a 4 month old and there is plenty of baby change facilities and lift access to all the floors.
