If you're looking for a short (and flat) walk with the kids, a place to splash in puddles (if it's been raining) or feed the ducks, Mill Lakes is a great option. If you fancy a longer walk it links to the larger Bestwood Lodge Country Park (full of walks, a cafe and old Winding House). The one downside is parking, although you can usually easily park on the road/estate opposite one of the entrances or there is a car park at the Winding House.
