Nene Park Trust - Ferry Meadows Country Park

Nene Park Trust - Ferry Meadows Country Park

Closed right now, see opening hours

Cheap and accessible, great open spaces for children to run, a big lake with ducks and geese, really good outside soft play areas and a lovely cafe with good facilities plus a little steam train (only open in the summer I think)

Ferry Meadows Country Park, which is part of the Nene Park Trust, recently won the Muddy Stilettos 'Muddy Awards 2017' for 'Best Family Attraction in Cambridgeshire'. Muddy Stilettos also named Ferry Meadows as one of the 51 things to do in Cambridgeshire in their Survival Holiday Guide with kids for summer 2017! Muddy Stilettos review: "It's a place where you can walk, cycle, play, horse-ride, ride a train, go fishing, exercise the dog, jog, push the buggy and explore endless meadows, lakes and woodland – all less than three miles from Peterborough’s busy city centre. On the water there’s kayaks, canoes, row boats and pedaloes, paddle boards, group activities such as raft building, land games and orienteering and structured courses in sailing, windsurfing and kayaking. They are all available to book but if you’re acting a little more spontaneously then activities like the row boats and pedaloes are available on the day if you don’t mind a wait if it’s busy. There are places to picnic, BBQ areas or various cafes if you just can’t be bothered."
