Great rainy day outing for kids of all ages. Plenty of different exhibitions to explore and chances to get interactive, such as driving a Roman chariot, pressing buttons to make animal noises in the natural history section, dressing up as a King and Queen in the Castle Keep, and posting coins down the (very deep) well. Recommend taking plenty of pennies! There's also a small soft area for very small children, buckets of toys that can be borrowed during a visit, and a cafe selling nice cakes and lunches.
